Scope of services

All sessions are instructional and contemplative, intended for education and personal practice. Instructors are not healthcare providers, and the services do not constitute medical or psychological care, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy, nor do they create a therapist–client relationship. If you are experiencing a medical or mental-health condition, please seek advice from a licensed professional and use emergency resources in urgent situations.

This policy explains the limits of our service. It is not a statement about the Dhamma’s truth or the benefits described in the discourses.

By scheduling or attending a session, you confirm that you understand this scope and you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

  • You are at least 18 years old or you have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
  • You can participate safely in light movement and seated practice, with your own judgment about comfort and limits.
  • You agree to follow local laws and any site rules for the chosen location.

Not a crisis service

We do not provide emergency support. If you or someone near you is in danger, call your local emergency number immediately. In the United States, dial 911 or contact the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations

Booking is handled through our online scheduler. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to manage your appointment. You can change or cancel through that link or by contacting us.

Our current policy is published at Cancellation and Rescheduling. That page is part of these terms. If there is a difference between pages, the specific policy page controls for timing and fees.

Fees, payment, refunds

  • Fees are posted on the scheduling page. Rates may vary by duration and location.
  • Payment is due at booking unless stated otherwise. We may use third-party payment processors.
  • Refunds follow the cancellation policy. Late changes and no-shows may be charged.
  • Travel sessions outside local areas may require reimbursement for travel and lodging, and a fair fee for time away from regular sessions.
  • Discount or referral codes are optional. If used, they are subject to verification and may not be combined unless stated.

Privacy

We respect your privacy and handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. The privacy policy is part of these terms.

Intellectual property

Website content, written materials, and session materials are protected. You may use handouts and notes for your own practice. Do not publish or redistribute materials without written permission, unless a document explicitly grants a broader license.

Testimonials and outcomes

Testimonials reflect individual experiences. Results vary. We do not promise specific outcomes. Practice requires your sincere effort and suitable conditions.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Heir of Dhamma and its instructors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from participation in sessions or use of the website. You agree to use your own judgment and to practice within your limits.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. Venue for any dispute will be in the state or federal courts located in Alameda County, California.
