This policy explains how Heir of Dhamma collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, book a session, communicate with us, or participate in instruction.

Our instruction is for education and practice. It is not medical or psychological care. For diagnosis or treatment, please see a licensed professional. This note clarifies our role as instructors and does not make any claim about the Dhamma’s ultimate aims.

Information we collect

  • Booking and contact information. Name, email, phone, preferred location, chosen instructor, and scheduling details you submit through our scheduler.
  • Form responses. Session preferences such as meditation, Dhamma talk, or mixed. Optional notes and questions. Optional referral or marketing information such as “How did you hear about us” or a referral code.
  • Communications. Emails, messages, or phone calls that you send to us. We keep these to provide support and for records.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment processor (for example Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our site.
  • Calendar and video platforms. If you book remote sessions, your email may be used to send a calendar invite and a video link (for example Zoom or Google Meet).
  • Website usage data. Standard logs, device and browser information, and general analytics. If you come from an advertisement, we may receive marketing parameters such as UTM tags.
  • Images or testimonials you provide. If you explicitly share a testimonial or photo for publication, we store it with your permission.

How we use information

  • To schedule, confirm, and manage sessions. To send reminders and updates.
  • To provide instruction and respond to your questions.
  • To operate, protect, and improve our website and services.
  • To understand what outreach works. For example whether people arrive via Google Ads, word of mouth, or a referral code.
  • To comply with laws and enforce our policies.

Lawful grounds for use may include your consent, our need to perform a requested service, and our legitimate interests in running and improving our activities. Where consent is required, you can withdraw it at any time.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers who help us run the business:

  • Scheduling: Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity) to manage bookings and related emails.
  • Payments: a payment processor such as Stripe to process payments.
  • Email and calendar: email and calendar services to send confirmations and invites.
  • Video: a video platform such as Zoom or Google Meet for remote sessions.
  • Website and analytics: website hosting and analytics tools to operate and measure the site.

Service providers may handle information only to provide their services to us and must protect it under their contracts. We may also share information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Cookies and analytics

Our site may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure usage. Your browser may allow you to block cookies. Some features may not work without them. If we use advertising tools, we do so to understand what outreach is effective and to improve how people find us.

Do Not Track. We do not respond to Do Not Track signals. You can use browser settings or extensions to limit tracking technologies.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as needed to provide services, maintain records, and meet legal or accounting requirements. Booking records and related email history are typically kept for up to four years unless you ask us to delete them and we have no legal need to keep them.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and update. You can ask for a copy of your information and request corrections.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete information where we have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Marketing. You can opt out of optional messages at any time.
  • Permissions. You can withdraw consent where we rely on consent.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information in our control. No system can be perfectly secure. Please protect your devices and accounts and contact us if you suspect a problem.

Children

Our services are for adults. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under the age where consent is required, we will delete that information.

We may update this policy when needed. The Effective date shows the current version. If changes are significant, we will highlight them on this page.
